Desire2EXCEL Community Service Awards

The Desire2EXCEL Community Service Award recognizes Desire2Learn users who foster leadership, commitment, and continued collaboration using Desire2Learn to serve the wider community.

Examples

  • Imaginative attempts to aid the wider community socially, culturally, or economically
  • Improvement to your community and communities around the world
  • Tackles a serious problem or challenge with global significance
  • Increase knowledge about effective partnerships for higher education institutions, community based organizations, and projects including K-12

Community Service Award Criteria

  • Innovative, creative, visionary, sustainable
  • Building community
  • Serving community
  • Sustaining community

Instructions and Judging

  • Complete the application with as much detail as possible
  • All online, hybrid, and web-enhanced courses will be judged together
  • Judging panel includes Desire2Learn staff and members of the FUSION 2009 Planning Committee
  • Winner will receive a $500 honorarium
  • Winner will be required to do a brief presentation at FUSION 2009 for the Desire2EXCEL Award Presentation

Participants

The award nominations are open to all faculty, staff, and administrators of Desire2Learn institutions. All courses must use the Desire2Learn eLearning Suite.
