General Description:
The Business Analyst – eLearning, sets high standards for their own work and ensures high quality outcomes are achieved. Business Analysts primarily work with Desire2Learn product, services and marketing teams and they are client-focused, team players who promote collaboration and excellent communication. They enjoy project-based work and are capable of multi-tasking several jobs at once.
They are responsible for the design, development, implementation, configuration/customization, and maintenance of Desire2Learn's exciting new product offering. They will play a pivotal role in translating market needs into a clearly defined solution to aid millions of teachers and learners worldwide.

Type of Position: Full-time
Location: Kitchener, Ontario
Main Duties:
- Look for and create value for clients by indentifying more time efficient ways for users to accomplish common tasks
- Researches market trends, competitive offerings and industry standards to ensure that designs are informed and complete
- Create and maintain documentation as required at all phases of the SDLC/key projects
- Facilitates user-centered design process by conducting focus groups, running surveys and interacting with our user community
- Refines and details user and functional requirements as laid out by the Product Manager
- Conducts design reviews with internal and external stakeholders
- Assists in defining training and support opportunities on our existing products
- Creates and maintains detailed production-level functional specifications
- Configure and maintain a product learning environment for thousands of users
- Works with marketing, graphic design, training, architecture, QA to ensure feasibility of detailed design
- Works with Usability Specialists to define usability testing requirements and make appropriate design changes based on testing results
- May be required to work off-hours for scheduled maintenance or part of an on-call rotation
Work Experience Recommendations:
- 3 or more years experience directly related to the duties listed above
- Proven success in designing innovative software products
- Excellent communication skills, ability to translate non-technical business needs into technical solutions with defined processes
- Well organized, able to handle several projects and tasks at once, ability to respond to changing priorities as needed
- Experienced in business process mapping and flow charting
- Experienced in delivering consumer web applications to market
- Experience in the eLearning, or software industry an asset
Education Recommendations:
- Computer Science degree or diploma with supplemental business education preferred, or equivalent training and experience
