Configuration and Release Developer (Ref #D2LCRD2008)
General Description:
Software Configuration and Release Developers support and maintain the company's Software Configuration Management, build and release processes including automated build (creating and maintaining build scripts), version control, release management and deployment across multiple applications, projects and platforms. They are responsible for package testing and they work closely with cross functional teams, including Project Management, Development and Quality Assurance prior to release.

Location: Kitchener, Ontario
Main Duties:
- Automation of application builds and component builds
- Management of application deployment for one or more projects simultaneously
- Assist with supporting Source Code Management tools
- Create and maintain SCM/CM documentation
- Package testing prior to release
Work Experience Recommendations:
- 5-7 years experience in Product Development
- 2-3 years experience in Build Management
- Knowledge of SCM practices, processes and guidelines
- Hands-on experience with SCM tools and processes including tagging, branching and merging
- Proficiency with revision management tools such as Subversion, CVS, Perforce, ClearCase
- Proficiency with configuration build tools
- Ability to automate builds encompassing multiple application components
- Proficiency in the major scripting languages
- Must be detailed and process oriented
- Must have a good working knowledge of SQL
- Strong analysis, documentation, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work with cross functional teams
- Ability to work in an environment that has frequent task changes and additions
- Ability to support staff on automation and deployment techniques
- Excellent communication skills
Education Recommendations:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
