Corporate Project Manager (Ref #D2LCPM2010)

General Description:

Corporate Project Managers will be responsible for managing a wide variety of cross-functional projects that involve various parts of the company. They will be able to drive projects to completion, meeting deadlines and budgets while mitigating risks. They will offer project management services and support to all parts of the organization.

We are looking for candidates with project management experience who are technically savvy and who have exceptional reporting and communication skills.

Type of Position: Full-time

Location: Kitchener, Ontario

Main Duties:

  • Works collaboratively with departments responsible for on-time and on-budget delivery of cross functional projects, accurately identifying and articulating the tasks required in the form of project plans
  • Assists in the evaluation of opportunities, development of project charters, project management plans as required
  • Makes appropriate, realistic and timely decisions based on consideration of the facts and alternatives
  • Provides project management services, support and lends expertise to a wide variety of projects and project team members
  • Provides excellent service to internal and external clients by discovering and meeting their needs and building, and maintaining positive and effective working relationships
  • Aligns project outcomes with stake holder's expectations and standards
  • Motivates the team using appropriate tools and techniques in order to increase commitment to the project objectives
  • Participates in or leads organizational meetings and events to communicate and engender communication across the organization
  • Quickly shifts priorities and adapts to changes to meet organizational and department requirements
  • Acts as a change agent by recommending, adapting and implementing changes in process and systems
  • Prepares project reports for management or other stakeholders

Work Experience Recommendations:

  • 5 + years experience in project management
  • Corporate PMO experience an asset
  • Strong communication and presentation skills; the ability to distill and present findings, plans and recommendations in an easily digestible format
  • Strong technical background, ability to implement new technologies
  • Experience with project management software tools, such as Microsoft Project
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Experience with analytical or business intelligence tools an asset
  • Knowledge of SQL and SQL queries an asset
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, collaborative decision-making and analytical skills

Education Recommendations:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business or technology related field
  • Post-graduate degree considered an asset
  • PMP certification preferred
