Deployment Consultant (Ref #D2LDC2010)
General Description:
As part of the Professional Services organization, a Deployment Consultant is responsible for deployment of Desire2Learn's products and tools. You will work both with clients and various cross-functional team members to deploy and configure Desire2Learns application to meet client requirements. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use and expand your knowledge of web technologies, keeping up with leading edge technologies to understand how they are utilized in the industry and to troubleshoot challenging issues. A successful candidate will be detail oriented, and able to handle several projects and tasks at once.

Responsibilities:
- Deploy software installations of Desire2Learns products and tools
- Setup and configure Desire2Learn Learning Platform instances and organizations for new and existing clients
- Migrate installations to different servers/hosting facilities
- Deploy new versions of Desire2Learn software (patches and upgrades) to client sites
- Communicate with clients and other stakeholders during deployment projects
- Investigate and troubleshoot deployment issues to determine corrective actions
- Look for and suggest improvements to the installation process and documentation
- Design and implement small custom applications to improve project efficiency
- Occasional off-hours scheduled work is a component of this role
Work Experience and Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience working with relevant programming technologies (.NET, SQL, ASP, XML, HTML)
- Knowledge of relational databases and management tools (SQL Server 2005, SQL Server 2008)
- Knowledge of internet technologies (Internet Information Services)
- Knowledge of Windows Server 2003
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of computer hardware is an asset
- VBS, C# and web development skills are an asset
Education Recommendations:
- Bachelors of Computer Science, Applied Science, Engineering or equivalent
