General Description:
Desire2Learn makes industry-leading web-based enterprise e-Learning systems. Our products are used by hundreds of clients to deliver accredited courses for both on-campus and distance education programs. Our applications deliver material to millions of users worldwide every single day.
We are looking for strong coders who can analyze problems, determine where the problems are, and recommend solutions. They will work on technical and security problems with Desire2Learn's commercial products, but may also be involved in troubleshooting custom-made extensions to our products.
Successful candidates will be good analyzers and creative problem solvers. They will be able to make accurate risk assessments and demonstrate above-average attention to detail and competence. They are excellent communicators who are able to bridge the gap between coders and the outside world.

Main Duties:

Fulfill duties of Software Developer with a focus on:
- Performing root-cause analysis
- Developing solutions and performing risk assessments
- Writing project/issue summary reports
- Communicating technical information to support staff
- Working with architects and deployment/configuration specialists
- Liaison with project and product management departments
Work Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in software development
- 5+ years of experience with enterprise web applications
- 3+ years of experience with C#, .NET and Microsoft tools and technologies
- 3+ years of experience with T-SQL and SQL Server 2000 or 2005
- Experience with web-based security is considered an asset
- Experience in the development of commercial applications is considered an asset
Education Recommendations:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
