General Description:
The Director, Marketing Communications is responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of the Marketing Communications Strategy and Plan. As a key member of the marketing team, the successful candidate will oversee the development of goals with associated implementation plans/activities to execute a comprehensive marketing communications approach for communicating Desire2Learn solutions across all vertical markets.
The candidate is responsible for ensuring Desire2Learn has cohesive and consistent messaging that resonates with the market at large. Additionally he/she will direct the marketing communications and event management teams in their project development/completion, budget creation/management and overall success to meet corporate awareness and revenue objectives.

Main Duties:
- Develop and manage marketing communications strategy/plan across multiple mediums including, web, social media, direct marketing, and other
- Provide leadership, coaching and day-to-day support for a diverse set of individuals across the marketing team
- Deliver tactical execution on all aspects of the marketing & sales plan to achieve revenue and related targets
- Actively work with marketing team members as well as other functional representatives to develop and support communications /campaigns to create awareness for the Desire2Learn brand and drive demand across all sectors and geographies.
- Create sales support materials to ensure sales team can effectively communicate offerings
- Work closely with the sales team and others to launch and position new offers/initiatives in market
- Create and manage metrics to measure and report on program effectiveness across all initiatives
- Develop and manage budget
Work Experience and Qualifications:
- Must have 10 plus years of progressive marketing communications experience across all mediums
- Experience in all aspects of the marketing mix including planning, implementing, and managing marketing initiatives encompassing Communications/Competitive Assessment, outbound marketing, Channel Marketing Programs, and Event Management.
- Must be a master communicator and possess excellent writing and editing skills as well as the ability to communicate through multiple mediums
- Deep B2B expertise using social media
- Strong team leader with the ability to inspire, motivate and manage a team including multiple marketing functions.
- Previous experience in eLearning, the education sector, enterprise software and/or technology solutions providers preferred
- Project management expert
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to build positive relationships
- Ability to work independently and under pressure with constant changes and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong budget and forecasting capabilities
- Financial literacy
Education Recommendations:
- Bachelor degree in Marketing Communications, Business Administration,or equivalent
- MBA preferred
