Director, Marketing Operations

General Description:
The Director of Marketing Operations will be responsible for the oversight, development and management of key marketing processes, particularly those with a high dependence on cross-functional teams. This would include the management and administration of sales support tools and related items, the annual and quarterly planning and reporting process, budget development/management as well as ongoing metric development, reporting, program measurement/ROI, and continuous improvement.
This role will also develop plans for and provide operational management of all Marketing related systems such as the Marketing Automation System MAS and the marketing component of CRM including the development and management of measures, processes, data integrity, reporting and day-to-day management.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in Marketing Operations including Marketing Automation Systems, CRM systems, plan development, reporting, and ROI analysis.

Main Duties:
The Director, Marketing Operations will oversee/perform the following tasks:
- Manage Marketing Operations activities on a day-to-day basis
- Develop operational policies and processes and oversee adherence to these both within marketing as well as on a cross-functional basis
- Meet routinely with marketing management to collaboratively monitor and evaluate recent performance, plan, prioritize, and schedule upcoming tasks/initiatives, both strategic and tactical
- Manage and oversee marketing and operation support for global alliances and partners
Analysis and reporting:
- Create framework for budgeting process across marketing team and manage the tracking and reporting process with Finance
- Work with management to develop, deliver and enhance routine management and operational reporting, as well as necessary ad hoc reporting
- Provide and maintain tools for tracking key marketing metrics, trending, and forecasting
- Establish comprehensive approach for ROI analyses across all marketing activities and establish processes to constantly monitor and improve results
Marketing team support:
- Provide ongoing training for MAS, CRM, and other systems, as well as training for new users
- Establish and oversee key cross-functional processes where marketing is accountable
- Coordinate and administer delivery of resources between marketing team members and other groups in the company
- Provide marketing team "on boarding" and "off boarding" services
- Assist marketing teams and management with planning annual, quarterly and other marketing team meetings; handle logistics on finalized plans
- Oversee additional marketing team administrative support as mutually agreed
Marketing systems support:
- Work with marketing and sales organization and IT to maintain, identify, prioritize, schedule and deliver enhancements to the MAS, CRM and other marketing systems
- Verify existing data, data scrubbing, and data entry for MAS, CRM and other critical business systems
Work Experience and Qualifications:
Required professional skills:
- Skilled at analyzing/assessing business challenges/opportunities and in turn developing plans for addressing including the development of processes, accountabilities, measures and feedback loops
- Ability to create business plans, business cases / positive relationships at multiple levels with cross-functional stakeholders
- Highly effective project management, prioritization, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines
- Proven team player who is both flexible and adaptable
- Ability to influence and make decisions
- Previous experience in eLearning, enterprise software and/or high tech solutions providers highly recommended
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Financial management including budgeting, measurement, reporting and ROI analyses.
Other Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 - 10 years experience working in a marketing operations group or equivalent
- 3 - 5 years experience managing a marketing operations group
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience managing MASs and CRM systems
- Strong management and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Attention to detail
- Understanding of business operations and processes
- Advanced level usage of MAS and CRM systems
- Advanced level usage of Microsoft Office and Share-point
Education Recommendations:
- Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
- Graduate Degree preferred, MBA or equivalent
