Inside Sales Executive (Ref #D2LISE2008)

General Description:

The Inside Sales Executive performs sales functions within a geographic sales region. Following up on leads generated from multiple sources, including outbound marketing, the Inside Sales Exec manages the sales process. They work as part of a dedicated team with Senior Enterprise Sales Executives to achieve revenue targets while ensuring customer satisfaction.

They are required to serve potential clients as an application administrator, performing demonstrations, and are a key resource for potential clients within the sales process, evaluation process, or running pilots with Desire2Learn. This position is an integral part of the sales team providing essential results by managing customer needs and expectations, customer application needs, and core processes of the sales approach utilizing solution selling methodologies. The Inside Sales Executive position provides a challenging career opportunity as well as career paths within Desire2Learn.

Main Duties:

  • Responsible for sales cycle from lead through to contract
  • Able to understand and deliver Desire2Learn's unique value propositions
  • Modify and enhance demo and pilot sites within Desire2Learn's software
  • Prepare and deliver virtual product demonstrations, answering detailed product questions
  • May deliver occasional product demonstrations in-person
  • Actively manage and monitor CRM system
  • Liaise with Marketing to execute sales and marketing campaigns
  • Report on activities and market conditions
  • Forecast revenue
  • Perform application administration including user configuration, org structure setup, user enrolments, course migrations, and other tasks within the Desire2Learn application in order to ensure demo and pilot success
  • Escalate issues to support specialists as required utilizing our existing support structure
  • Manage incoming queries and leads
  • Assist in development of Competitive Intelligence
  • Conduct client and market research
  • Be a proficient office-based resource for quick questions from Senior Enterprise Sales Executives
  • Collect and analyze customer requirements
  • Maintain a high level technical understanding of our software products
  • May attend various conferences
  • Constantly strive to improve your knowledge and abilities

Work Experience Recommendations:

  • 2+ years in a similar role
  • Client-facing experience in a sales, support or service-related role
  • Experience with enterprise-level web-based applications
  • Experience with a learning-related platform/system (LMS, SIS, or similar) an asset
  • Presentation skills and experience required
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Fluent in English; other languages are an asset

Education Recommendations:

  • Bachelor's degree recommended (technical, business or education-related is ideal)
