Quality Assurance Analyst

General Description:
Quality Assurance Analysts help improve and maintain product and process quality. They apply proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate implementation of products against functional and technical specifications and assist other members of the Product Team through careful testing. They will work closely with employees from other functions, including Development, Product Support, Product Management and Project Management. QA Analysts work under minimal supervisions with latitude for independent action and decision.

Main Duties:
- Takes a planned and self-directed exploratory approach to testing
- Hunts for bugs in the software
- Designs and executes test cases
- Investigates problems, finding their root cause, and clearly documents findings
- Raises usability concerns and proposes solutions to problems after performing thorough investigation, taking into account the needs of all clients
- Tests bug fixes to determine if they are valid and complete
- Performs scenario-based testing from the perspectives of various client roles
- Validates crucial design decisions and tries to find flaws with them
- Proposes suggestions for additions and improvements to the software
- Communicates status, findings, and progress on a regular basis
Work Experience Recommendations:
- At least two years experience in a software testing environment
- Expert working knowledge of computers and excellent typing skills
- Experience with issue-tracking software and with testing database-driven web applications is an asset
- Experience with any of JavaScript, VBScript, CSS, ASP, and ASP .NET, knowledge of SQL queries, and exposure to relational databases would be assets
Education Recommendations:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related technical field

They will possess strong deductive reasoning, extreme attention to detail, persistence, patience, and creativity. The ability to multi-task and learn quickly in a fast paced environment is a must.
