Quality Assurance Analyst (Ref #D2LQAA2008)
General Description:
We are looking for experienced candidates to perform a wide variety of technical Quality Assurance assignments under minimal supervision, with
latitude for independent action and decision. The Quality Assurance Analyst helps improve and maintain product and process quality. The successful candidate will apply proven
analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate implementation of products against functional and technical specifications and assist other members of the QA Team
through careful testing. They will work closely with employees from other departments, including Development, Product Support, Product Management and Project Management.

Location: Kitchener, Ontario
Main Duties:
- Conducts quality assurance activities on products.
- Writes test plans, test cases and test scripts for tracking defects and fixes.
- Responsible for conducting Functional, Integration, Regression, UAT testing.
- Responsible for the automation of test plans, test cases and test scripts within automated testing tools.
- Tests and certifies software defect fixes and new functionality and reviews test summary reports.
- Manages testing schedule.
- Assists Product Support with analysis and verification of software defects reported to determine validity and clarification.
- Performing scenario-based testing from the perspective of various client roles.
- Analyzes and documents test results and makes recommendations.
- Creates and maintains quality system documents and records, e.g. flowcharts, procedures, forms, templates, spreadsheets, presentations.
- Gathers and analyzes project metrics in support of business cases, planned projects, and requirements and communicates findings to Project Management.
- Review/revise policies, procedures, standards for Quality Assurance department.
- Assist with coaching of personnel in the operation of the process-based quality system.
Work Experience Recommendations:
- Five years related experience in similar position and or department.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Experience and substantial involvement with Project Methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC.
- Experience with issue-tracking software and with testing database-driven web applications.
- Sound knowledge and experience with automated testing and tools.
- Experience with one or more of JavaScript, VBScript, CSS, ASP, ASP.NET.
- Working knowledge of SQL Database and SQL Queries and or other relational databases.
Education Recommendations:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent technical field is required.
