Usability Data Analyst

General Description:
The Usability Data Analyst will work across product teams to develop and deliver a strategy to leverage large-scale data sets to understand and model user behaviour.
They will provide research support at all phases of the design process. To drive integration of research findings, the Usability Data Analyst will develop written summaries and suggest design alternatives.

Location: Kitchener, Ontario
Main Duties:
- Apply both qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze large data sets to investigate and document usage trends – with a user experience focus
- Manage ad-hoc reporting requests from product designers and product managers
- Help drive change by communicating findings to stakeholders in the company
- Inform design reviews
Work Experience Recommendations:
- Proven ability to identify user experience problems through log analysis
- Thorough knowledge and experience in large scale research
- Ability to build relationships across the organization, with technical and non-technical groups
- Familiarity with privacy and security policies
- Programming skills related to data extraction - including strong SQL/IIS skills
- Working knowledge of C#
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis. Experience with SAS, R or similar technology.
- Superior data visualization and communication skills
- Practical knowledge of user experience design
- Ability to dialogue with cross-functional teams (from product management to development)
- Experience with enterprise web applications
- Knowledge of eLearning and/or Learning Management Systems is an asset
Education Recommendations:
- Post-secondary degree in a Computer Science, Statistics, Psychology, Mathematics, Human-Computer Interaction or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
