Dashboard
The sleek ePortfolio dashboard provides users with an at-a-glance look inside their ePortfolio where they can see recent comments left by peers, any new material sent by instructors, and invitations to review others' work. The ePortfolio's powerful search engine retrieves any item quickly.
Artifact Management and Collections
The ePortfolio stores all the artifacts created by a user. Users group artifacts together into collections that can be managed manually or dynamically populated with artifacts such as videos, presentations, pictures or documents that share tags or keywords. Multiple artifacts can be edited at once to save time and effort. Compiling collections and sharing them with learning networks is simplified so that users focus on learning and not on the software.
Reflections
Reflections throughout the learning process allow students to internalize and synthesize learning beyond the outcomes of traditional memorization. Users choose which reflections are shared and commented upon. This personalization of the lifelong learning process is at the heart of Desire2Learn ePortfolio.
Presentations
Users control their presentations: how they look, who sees them, and what level of permission each reviewer has. A range of professional and appealing presentation templates allows users to add flair and individuality while meeting presentation needs. The organization can incorporate their branding while still allowing the user to personalize the look and feel of the presentation. Both evaluators and peers can comment on presentations and even individual items can be assessed.
Assessment and Feedback
Desire2Learn ePortfolio delivers robust assessment capabilities through integration with Desire2Learn's industry-leading Competencies and Learning Outcome tools. These key features allow for feedback and assessment at a granular level which can be applied to individual Artifacts, Collections, Reflections, or entire Presentations. Evaluators can review all comments and assessments made by peers, gaining a more complete picture into the learning process to make a more authentic assessment.
Efficient and Flexible Administration
Desire2Learn ePortfolio is efficient and reduces administrative redundancy in HelpDesk, IT Staff and User management, due to the integration with the Desire2Learn Learning Environment. Administrators can customize the roles, permissions and organization structure to suit their needs. Form artifacts can support a variety of data-types. For example, a single form can be used to define learning goals, link to external progress reports, and internal reflections.
Flexibility allows a variety of applications including Professional Development, Job Seeking, Assessment, and Accreditation. Desire2Learn ePortfolio is able to reflect the unique environment of each institution. So while it is user–centered, an institution could choose to lock down the system using permissions or even enforce the branded look and feel through locking down specific templates and themes.
Reporting
ePortfolio reporting capabilities are built with the user and the institution in mind. As a user, you can view logs of anyone who accessed your ePortfolio and any changes made to ePortfolio items. For the institution, a wealth of rich information from the ePortfolio is available in the Data Warehouse and reporting tools. Organizations have access to the very detailed information of Competency achievements (when they were completed, where, and how they were assessed). Institutions can also gain access to rubrics assessments and frequencies, information from forms such as artifact templates and data can be further aggregated and analyzed.
