Personal Navigation Minibar
Get access to essential functions, no matter where you are. A sleek navigation minibar is found at the top of every page in Desire2Learn Learning Environment. This minibar enables instructors and learners to switch between courses, navigate to organization and course home pages, access account settings like Profile and Preferences, and receive alerts based on system activity, such as grade releases, news feed updates, and new emails. With the flexibility to easily brand and customize based on specific organization or course requirements, the minibar offers users intuitive navigation through the Learning Environment.
Instructional Design Wizard
Cut down on course revisions with the ability to pair course objective with course design. An intuitive tool that leverages Learning Environment’s integrated toolset and tried-and-true instructional design framework, the Instructional Design Wizard walks instructors through the creation of pedagogically-sound courses. Select from a variety of learning experiences to ensure outcomes are appropriate for your learners’ learning levels. The Instructional Design Wizard promotes an effective course structure through alignment of content and assessment with instructional strategies and course objectives.
Course Builder
Building on the course blueprint provided by the Instructional Design Wizard, Course Builder is an easy-to-use, accessible tool for organizing and managing the development of a course, its lessons, and its materials. Its deep integration with Learning Environment tools provides a seamless experience for creating course items and associating them with one another, and the single-interface design provides a consolidated view of the course: perfect for ensuring all topics, assessments, and objective are present. Inline document creation, a robust HTML editor, and simple templates empower instructors to build engaging course content quickly and painlessly.
Release Conditions
Create a more guided, personal learning experience and encourage more content interaction with Release Conditions. Instructors can create custom learning paths by attaching Release Conditions to items within Learning Environment. Learners cannot see these items until they meet the associated condition such as a required score on a quiz or meeting a particular learning objective.
HTML Templates
Save time developing course content-HTML Templates provide instructors with pre-defined templates to choose when creating new documents and content within Learning Environment. No design or coding experience necessary: simply choose a Template, and your content will conform instantly. Create new Templates and save them to the Template Directory for easy access in the future. All assets, such as links, images, and embedded code are maintained to ensure that content renders perfectly, every time.

Learning shouldn’t be exclusive. Desire2Learn Learning Environment has been twice awarded the Gold Level NFB-NVA Certification from the National Federation of the Blind. It was the first Learning Management System to be re-certified for the achievement.
