Extensibility APIs
Desire2Learn's software provides a rich set of APIs with a mature access control system to allow organizations to build custom, complimentary solutions.
Our APIs conform to industry standards such as IMS Basic LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability), SRU 1.2 (Search/Retrieval via URL) and more. In addition to standards based APIs we offer specialized APIs based on state-of-the-art technology approaches such as REST-based Web Services and JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) that extend the areas the API enables.
Beyond the technology, our extensibility framework includes open documentation, dedicated Desire2Learn team members and tools to simplify the development process.
Examples of Applications
Example applications showcase the capabilities of the Valence extensibility technology. By providing the source code for the samples, we enable our developer community to customize and troubleshoot the code within their own environments. The samples are not part of the supported product suite. However, we offer development support through a variety of channels.
